Devin James Swanson

We are extremely saddened to share the loss of Devin James Swanson. Devin was born to Mark & Rona Swanson and grew up in the community of Hickory Flatt, Canton, GA., where he built a foundation of stability, friendship, love & faith. Where he learned to fish, hunt & play basketball with his Dad, brother & sister. The heated neighborhood basketball games are still some of our fondest memories. It was always Devin, Dillon and Shelby.

In his 11th grade school year, Devin moved to Hiram, GA with his mother, Dr. John Sparti, and siblings, where he graduated high school. Devin developed his love for hunting and the outdoors as a young man. He learned carpentry skills from his Dad, Eric, and Robbie. Devin was a simple man, he made an adventure out of whatever was in front of him. He didn't have a lot but what he had, he shared. His heart led his path. Devin found the meaning of sobriety the day his son, Rowan was born.

Since that day, Devin's life was focused on God, Rowan, and recovery. He developed close relationships with people in his support group and did his best to live by the principles of the "Big Book". Devin pulled his strength from the blending of the Sparti and Swanson families and used that strength to battle the insurmountable challenges over the last year. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, easy-going laid-back personality, and love for family.

Now Devin may finally rest in eternal peace.
