Agnes Morton, age 94, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born on December 13, 1922, in Oconee, GA, to the late Dixie Thomas & Grace Estes, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Morton, brothers, Ed Estes and Tom Estes, brother-in-law, Charles Barnett, daughter-in-law, Patricia Morton and a grandson. She as a member of Dallas First United Methodist Church and served as a worthy Matron at Eastern Star. Mrs. Morton worked at Cobb County as a Tax Assessor Clerk for 20 years.
Survivors include sons, Mike Morton of Kennesaw, GA, and Mark & Marsha Morton of Florida; daughters, Sandra & Ken Cargile of Tallapoosa, and Ann & David Cargile of Beaufort, SC; sister, Helen Barnett of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 3 PM, from Crest Lawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Thomas Blagg officiating. Christopher Cargile, Ken Cargile, Jack Henderson, Jackson Henderson, J.R. Smith and Blake Morton will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 12 PM until 2 PM.
