Al Simmons, age 65, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County), passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009. A native of Paulding County, he was born November 13, 1943, and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Other Simmons, Sr. & Verdie Marie Aderhold Simmons, and sister, Dorothy Howard. Mr. Simmons worked for the City of Atlanta for 28 ½ years, as a water meter reader. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Hammond Simmons; daughters & sons-in-law, Lisa & Dennis Mobley of Dallas, GA and Karen & Greg
Parris of Douglasville, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Joseph Other Simmons, Jr. & wife, Dorothy of Orlando, FL, Thomas L. & Shirley Simmons of Douglasville, GA, and Douglas & Sally Simmons of Cartersville, GA; sisters & brother-in-law, Reba Twilley of Marietta, GA and Mary & Eddie Wilson of Hampton, GA; grandchildren, Joshua Mobley, Nicholas Mobley, Ashli Mobley and Patrick Parris; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, at 11:00 am, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Tommy Seay and Reverend Joe Condra officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
