Ann Elizabeth (Holder) Claxton

Ann Elizabeth Holder Claxton passed away on March 31, 2023. She was born on November 16, 1932 to the late Wade Jefferson Holder and Miriam McClellan Holder in Bainbridge, Georgia. Ann was a member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church and loved worshiping there. She was a devoted believer whose faith was strong. One of her favorite things to do was work in her garden tending to her vegetables and plants. What she enjoyed doing the most was spending time with her two granddaughters who she adored. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Edward Holder and William Holder. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, A.B. Claxton Jr., her daughter, Mona Claxton Irvin; her sister, Alice Holder Patterson; two grandchildren, Rachel Irvin and Leah Irvin along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral services will follow and begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Thomas Blagg officiating. Interment will be held the next day at Kite City Cemetery on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Claxton's honors towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
