Annette Tibbitts Rakestraw, age 81, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. She was born on June 18, 1936, in Dallas, GA, to the late Reverend Hollis & Marie Tibbitts, and was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Rakestraw, and daughter Becky Rakestraw Hanson. Mrs. Rakestraw was a member of Narroway Baptist Church and worked several years at Paulding County Junior High as a lunch room manager.
Survivors include son, Rickey Rakestraw of Dallas, GA; daughter, Renè & Wendell Hardy of Powder Springs, GA; brothers, Joe & Ann Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, Fed & Jane Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, Ned & Nell Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, and Reverend Hershel & Lettie Tibbitts of Dallas, GA; sisters, Frances Michael of Dallas, GA, Emily & Terrell Smith Dallas, GA, and Kay Lyle of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Kevin & Stacey Hardy, Shylah Rakestraw, Alaina & Jesse Swofford, Kale & Tori Hanson, Reid Hardy and Derick Hanson; great-grandchildren, Ethan Bennett, Will Hardy, Caroline Hardy, Hollis Swofford, and Lily Swofford; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on November 10, 2017, at 2 PM, from Narroway Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Tibbitts and Reverend Travis Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery. Kevin Hardy, Reid Hardy, Ethan Bennett, Will Hardy, Kale Hanson, Derick Hanson, and Hollis Swofford will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 4 PM until 8 PM.
