Annette (Gilliam) Sorrells

Ollie Annette Gilliam Sorrells, 76, formerly of Dallas, GA, now residing in Hattiesburg, MS, passed away peacefully while visiting her sister, on January 04, 2023. She was a graduate of West Fulton High School, Class of 1964. She retired in 2005 from the State of Georgia where she worked for the Dept. of Human Resources for 34 years. She was a member of Westside Christian Church of Hiram, GA, and attended Bay Street Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS.

Annette is proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Terrell Sorrells; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Gilliam and her brother, Thomas (Bubba) Gilliam. She is survived by her daughter Anissa (Mike) Smith of Hattiesburg, MS; a son, Jason S. Sorrells of Mascot, TN; four grandsons, Shaun (Erin) Burt of Hattiesburg, MS, Ethan Burt of Ocean Springs, MS, Gunner Smith and John Terrell Smith both of Hattiesburg, MS; one great granddaughter, Anna Marie Burt of Hattiesburg, MS; two bonus great grandchildren Joey Wollen Jr and Chloe Spencer of Knoxville, TN; one sister Mozelle Wright of Dallas, GA; one niece Brandie Shea Couch of Dallas, GA and many bonus nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She and Terry shared a very special friendship with Edward (Boots) and Dale Barron for 56+ years. They raised their children together and became family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Strickland. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens with Mike Smith, Shaun Burt, Ethan Burt, Gunner Smith, John Terrell Smith and Wayne Barron serving as Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to either Presbyterian Christian School, 103 WSF Tatum Blvd. Hattiesburg, MS 39401; or Westside Christian Church, 745 Morris Road, Hiram, GA 30141.
