Tony Harris

Tony Harris, age 77, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on July 16, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1947, in Dallas, GA, the son of Spurgeon Harris. Tony was raised by his beloved grandparents, Albert and Mae Harris. An accomplished aircraft assembler at Lockheed, Tony's passion for his work was matched only by his love for the game of golf. Tony was also a billiard's enthusiast, he enjoyed spending time with family, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, immersing himself in music and loving the Lord. Tony was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Tony's zest for life and his unwavering love for his family and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ will forever be cherished and remembered.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Mae Harris; and his father, Spurgeon Harris.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ann Rackley Harris; his daughters: Stacey (Joe) Woods and Jamie Lightner; beloved grandchildren: Allie McDaris, Katie McDaris, Kyra Lightner, Kamryn Lightner, Kainan Lightner, Emrie Buchanan and Ellis Buchanan; one great grandchild, Ava Weatherby; brothers-in-law, Lamar (Diane) Rackley and Terry Rackley; several nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held in Sam Clark Chapel on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 am with Reverend Lamar Rackley officiating. Music will be rendered by Terry Rackley.

Tony will be laid to rest in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Joe Woods, Kainan Lightner, Kodi Weatherby, Chad Smith, Brian Rackley and Terry Rackley serving as pallbearers. His grandchildren will serve as both active and honorary pallbearers.
