With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Kilbourne, who passed away at her home Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 12, 1940, in Bardstown, Kentucky, Barbara was a devoted spouse, cherished friend, and a beacon of love in the lives of those who knew her.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Terry Kilbourne. Their journey together, filled with shared laughter, unwavering support, and endless love, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of witnessing their bond. Together, they built a life rich in warmth and connection, reflecting the profound depth of their love. Barbara was a retired insurance account executive and a member of the New Hope First Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and gardening and loved to write books. But her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to her illness, she wanted to teach unprivileged children how to read.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Bill Duncan and the late Virgi Humes Duncan; and her five sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Kilbourne to whom she married December 18, 1971; a daughter, Lisa Kilbourne Frady and her husband Adam; a son, Jeffrey Neil Kilbourne; three grandchildren, Brandon Frady, Joshua Frady and Alyson Frady; and four great-grandchildren, Ava Frady, Hunter Frady, Tate Frady and Alycia Frady; sister, Joyce Powell; many nieces and nephews also survive.
As we prepare to honor Barbara's life, family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of her remarkable journey. A visitation will be held at the Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23, 2025 between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 pm.
Memorial services for Mrs. Kilbourne will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12 noon at New Hope First Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Hobbs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Kilbourne to the Dementia Society of America, P. O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or online at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate
In these moments of remembrance, we will find comfort in knowing that Barbara's spirit continues to inspire us. Although she has left our sight, her love and kindness will forever echo in our hearts. Her life was a testament to the beauty of enduring faith in love, family, and friendship.
Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the services for Mrs. Barbara Duncan Kilbourne.
