Benjamin "Ben" Kolb

September 19, 1947 — June 30, 2020

Benjamin “Ben” Kolb, age 72, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1947 in Atlanta, GA, to his late parents; Benjamin and Laura Kolb. Ben was retired from Georgia Tech, where he worked in maintenance for 33 years. He was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was also a member of Campbells Sunday School class, which he greatly enjoyed. In his spare time, Ben loved woodworking.  Mr. Kolb was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Kolb is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Ratteree Kolb of Douglasville, GA, daughters; Marion Wilson and her husband, Brent of Woodstock, GA, Joy Mitchell and her husband, Tim of Douglasville, GA, sisters; Betty Ann Hopkins and her husband, Mark of Douglasville, GA, Laura Jones and her husband, Danny of Dahlonega, GA, grandchildren; Austin Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Katie Mitchell and her fiancé, Levi Smith, Dawson Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Kolb will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. George Barnett officiating. Interment will follow the service with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Dawson Mitchell, Levi Smith, Austin Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Tim Ratteree, and Rick Beal. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 11:30 AM until the 1:30 PM. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service or visitation in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading any possible illnesses and to help keep our visitors, friends and the family members of Mr. Kolb safe.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Poplar Springs Baptist Church building fund in loving memory of Mr. Kolb.
