Bertie Herndon
October 16, 1918 — March 31, 2009
Bertie Mae Herndon, age 90, of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. She was born in Atlanta on October 16, 1918, and preceded in death by her father, Ottie Lee Starnes, mother Katie Ruth Fowler Starnes, husband, William V. Herndon, and son, Gary Lee Herndon. Mrs. Herndon was a homemaker and a member of Christ Freedom Church.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Donald & Cathy Herndon of Lithia Springs; daughters & son-in-law, Frances & Lee Martin of Hiram and Barbara Stover of Dallas; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 3:00 pm,
from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Reed and Pastor Ron Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Joe Martin, Lance Price, Mark Herndon, Matthew Stover, John Stover and Brad Herndon will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Price and Micah Glover. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until
8:00 pm.
