Betty Booker

Betty “Nanny” Long Booker, age 72, of Powder Springs, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011. She was born on August 27, 1938, in Eatonton, GA, to the late Solon and Nellie Mae Long, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Papa Jack” Booker, and sisters, Mildred Hughes and Diann Lovelady. Mrs. Booker worked at Cobb County Water System in payroll for over 20 years and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Marty & Teresa Booker of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela & Greg Youra of Marietta, and Jaci & Keith Hardy of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, Sherwood & Diane Long of Riverdale; sister, Lucy McCravy of Temple; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011, at 2 p.m., from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Brother Lee Lawrence and Brother Phil Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
