Betty Marie Gentry, age 67, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. She was born on August 29, 1947, in Marietta, GA, to the late Hubert and Mary Johns, and was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Leavel and brother, William T. Johns. She was a member of New Zion Church in Acworth, GA, and loved to garden and sing.
Survivors include, husband, Melvin Gentry of Dallas, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Nina & Donnie Walker of Talladega, AL, Melanie & Scooby Weaver of Dallas, GA, and Lydia & Ricky West of Ball Ground, GA; sons, Matthew Scott of Jasper, GA, and James “Jay” Gentry of Douglasville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael & Deborah Johns of Dallas, GA, and Jan T. Johns & Linda Williams of Woodstock, GA; sisters, Bobbie Howard of White, GA, Ann Hunnicutt of Dallas, GA, Pat Crowder of Eatonton, GA, and Nadine & Pete Leavel of Eatonton, GA; fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 3 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Fussell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 2 PM until 3 PM.
