Betty Lee (Gamblin) McClung

December 21, 1932 — October 2, 2020

Betty Lee McClung, 87, of Hiram, GA passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on December 21, 1932 in Atlanta, GA to the late Ralph  D. Gamblin and Ruby Lee Abernathy Estes.  She was a devoted member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church in Hiram, GA. She loved her family and the Lord and witnessed to everybody. She loved her flowers and taking care of her yard. At one time Mrs. McClung was a book binder for Foot and Davies but then worked as a CNA for many years at Wellstar Cobb Hospital prior to retirement. For many years, she and her husband owned Mack’s Country Store on Hiram-Sudie Road.

Mrs. McClung is survived by her sons and their wives, Andy and Laura McClung of Hiram, GA and Michael and Becky McClung also of Hiram, GA; her daughter, Debbie McFall of Villa Rica, GA; daughter-in-law, Sharon McClung of Winston, GA; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and multiple great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus E. McClung; son, Jack McClung; grandson, Cody Stephens; great-grandson, Cameron Cook; and brother, Ralph “Buddy” Gamblin Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Childers officiating.  Interment will follow in Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiram, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, Sunday, October 4, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. McClung safe.
