Mrs. Betty Prather Hurley, affectionately known as "Memaw", age 78 of Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024.
She was born August 12, 1946, in Rockmart, GA, daughter of the late Henry Cecil Coker and the late Beulah Williams Coker. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was a simple person who was very OCD and a very good cook. She loved cats and and had a great love for her grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Joe Prather and Dennis Sparti Hurley; two sisters, Louise Locklear and Lorene Sanders; brother, K. C. Coker; and a grandson, Joshua Prather.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy (Glen) Dennis and April (Dustin) Saunderson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie (Traci) Prather and Randall (Alice) Prather; seven grandchildren, Brittni Prather, Holly Prather, Dustin Prather, Lynn Prather, Cody Prather, Danielle Dennis and Kilyn (Jacob) Saunderson; two great-grandchildren, Payton Prather and Emma Lillie Prather; and a brother, Royce Coker.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2024 between the hours of 11:00am and 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the Sam Clark Chapel with Mr. Glen Dennis officiating.
Interment service will immediately follow in the Gann Family Cemetery with Dustin Prather, Dustin Saunderson, Adam Prather, Blake Williams, Vaughn Campbell and Michael Berry serving as pallbearers.
