Betty Jean (Griffin) Spence

Betty Jean Griffin Spence passed away January 5, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1937 to the late Homer Lee and Alma Jane Griffin. Betty married the love of her life, Luke J. Spence Sr. in 1953 and together raised six children. She was a wonderfully devoted mother and adored all children. She was an avid flower gardener and she also enjoyed reading, cooking, and caring for her family. Betty will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her family is rejoicing as she is in her heavenly home in a glorious new body. She is surrounded by loved ones who have been awaiting her arrival. May all accept the same blessed hope!

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband; Luke Jackson Spence Sr., her son; Luke Jackson "Jackie" Spence Jr., grandson; Luke James Spence, brothers; Leon Griffin and Denver Griffin. Betty is survived by her children; Robin (Mike) Webb, Thomas "Keith" Spence, Gregory (Robyn) Spence, Brian (Mindi) Spence, Lisa (Scott) Johnson, sister; Louise Anderson, grandchildren; Christy Rodgers, Lance Price, Jodi Price, Misty Duren, Justin Spence, Bobbi Spence, Michael Rega, Sidney Johnson, Spencer Johnson, and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Jason Duren officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Spencer Johnson, Micah Glover, Lance Price, Jacob Rodgers, Jacob Duren, Jackson Duren, Caleb Duren, and Michael Rega.
