Billy Inman Bedgood, Sr., age 79, of Dallas , passed away on Friday, September 07, 2012. He was born on May 2, 1933, in Memphis, TN, to the late, Inman Jansen Bedgood & the late, Floy Elizabeth Bedgood. Mr. Bedgood was an amateur artist/painter and an avid sports fan. He was inducted into the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame, as a Heavy Weight Golden Glove Champion winning the title in 1957 in New Orleans, LA. He played football for the University of Memphis, and was known as “Gentle Giant” to his wife. He was deeply devoted to his family and loved the outdoors. Mr. Bedgood retired as an Electrical Designer from Robert and Co. of Atlanta after over 30 years of service.
Survivors include, wife, Barbara Bedgood; son, Billy Bedgood Jr. of Doraville, GA; daughter, Maria L. Kramer of Dover, DE; son Daniel Bedgood & wife, Shannon of Barnesville, GA; stepchildren, Terri Snow Grant of Smyrna, GA, Denice Byram & husband Tracy of Lithia Springs, GA, Dr. Bill Snow & wife Myra of Anniston, AL; brother, Don F. Bedgood of Rex, GA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Bill Snow officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 2:00 PM until the service time.
