Billy Morris

December 12, 1938 — January 19, 2025

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Billy Marcus Morris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Billy, born on December 12, 1938, in Carroll County, Georgia, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Douglasville, Georgia.

Billy's craft in upholstery repair allowed him to work with numerous major retail outlets before retiring from Rhodes Furniture. His commitment to excellence and a keen eye for detail made him a respected figure in his field and a treasured friend to many. Outside of work, his warm spirit and genuine kindness brought joy and laughter to those around him.

A passionate sports fan, Billy spent many weekends cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, sharing his love for the teams with his family and friends. He cherished the moments spent camping at Cades Cove and enjoyed the thrill of NASCAR races. He also enjoyed vacationing at Daytona Beach, FL. These cherished activities brought him immense joy and created lasting memories for those lucky enough to share in them.

Billy is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Carolyn Tidwell Morris; they were joined together as husband & wife on June 29th, 1957; his son, Danny Morris; his daughters, Teresa Luna and Wanda Nation (Terry); his beloved sister, Ann Broom (Charles); and his sister-in-law, Opal Morris. He leaves a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Daniel Nation (Heather), Matthew Nation (Brooke), Kaleigh Quadagno (Joey), Luke Morris (Kari), Kyle Morris (Lexxi), Melissa Zand (Christopher), Taylor Luna (Charon), and 16 great-grandchildren. Each held a special place in his heart and will forever remember him for his unwavering support and love.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Billy's life and legacy during a visitation at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The visitation will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Those unable to attend the service in person may view the funeral at Billy Morris Service. Following the service, Billy will be laid to rest in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are: Daniel Nation, Matthew Nation, Joey Quadagno, Luke Morris, Kyle Morris, Taylor Luna, and Christopher Zand. Honorary pallbearers: Jacob Nation and Caden Quadagno.

In this time of sorrow, we take solace in the memories of Billy's laughter, warmth, and the love he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Stella Morris, brothers Winfred Morris and Wilson Morris, sister Sue Tidwell, and son-in-law Michael Luna.
