Billy "Papa GoDawgs" Holbrook

July 27, 1948 — January 8, 2025

Billy "Papa GoDawgs" Holbrook, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and proud union carpenter, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 8, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 27, 1948, in Clarksville, GA, Billy lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family and craft.

A devoted carpenter for many years at Welch Tarkington, Inc., Billy was known for his exceptional skill and unwavering work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His contributions to the commercial building industry left behind a legacy of craftsmanship that his family will cherish.

Beyond his profession, Billy was a passionate Georgia Bulldog fan, often heard cheering on his team with infectious enthusiasm on game days. Some of his most cherished memories were game days in Athens where him and his crew would tailgate like professionals- they never missed a home game. No one loved the Dawgs more than Papa GoDawgs.

His appreciation for southern rock music echoed from those hanging Bose speakers that he loved so much throughout his home, filling it (and all the houses around his) with the sounds that brought him joy.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents: Barto and Bessie Holbrook

Billy is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in Law Heather & Kevin Graves, stepdaughter Mary K Manley; his stepson , Wesley Lindsey; and his cherished grandchildren: Madison & Trenton Haynes, Austin & Bailey Graves, Morgan Manley, and Eli Manley. He also held a special place in his heart for his great-grandchild, Houston Graves and his two former wives Phyllis Baldwin and Melanie Holbrook.

The family invites all who knew and loved Billy to celebrate his life and legacy at a visitation to be held at Clark Funeral Home on January 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share treasured memories and honor the remarkable man who brought so much joy to those around him.
