Billy Wayne Shepard, age 70, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away February 12, 2025. He was born in Dublin, Georgia, the son of the late Jimmie Elijah Shepard and the late Catherine McDaniel Dixon.
A dedicated grader and heavy machine operator, Billy was not just a skilled worker; he was a man who took pride in his craft. He lived a life anchored in faith as a devoted Christian, drawing strength from his beliefs and the beauty around him.
Billy found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman who cherished his time on the water and loved nothing more than making lasting memories while camping under the stars. A fan of classic westerns, he often found solace in the stories that echoed themes of bravery and adventure. He had a special bond with his dogs, whose loyalty and companionship enriched his life.
In addition to his parents, Billy was also preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jo Brown Shepard.
Billy is survived by his children: April (Patty) Shepard, Jimmie Elijah Shepard, Raymond Eugene Shepard and David Shepard; his siblings: Diane Shepard Bailey, Penny Dixon Sanders and Chip Dixon; grandchildren: Angel Shepard, Kaleb Shepard, Seth Fisher, Bethany Hamby, Miracle Shepard, and Dorian Wilson; his beloved dogs; and several nieces and nephews.
As we celebrate the life of this remarkable man, memorial services will be held at a date and time to be determined, where family and friends will gather to honor the memories shared and the love he spread.
