Candice Angela Groves Cortes

Candice Angela Groves Cortes, age 48, of Dallas, GA, passed away on September 24, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Cortes was born on April 2, 1972 in Atlanta, GA, to her loving parents; Harold Groves Jr. and Joyce Womack Groves. Candice worked as a homemaker and was a member of Oak Leaf Baptist Church. Mrs. Cortes was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Candice was preceded in death by her father, Harold Groves Jr. and her grandparents, who she loved dearly, J.L. and Evelyn “Nanny” Womack and Harold Sr. and Beaulah Groves.

Mrs. Cortes is survived by her loving daughters; Jacqueline Baxter and her husband, Bryan of Hiram, GA, Jessie Cortes of Middleburg, FL, sister, Dawn Hendricks and her husband, Charles of Dallas, GA, grandchildren; Odin Whitfill, Marley Baxter, step grandchildren; Brantley Baxter, Aubree Baxter, Jaelyn Baxter and Jacee Hamilton, beloved uncle, Oscar Womack, and one niece and two nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Cortes will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Trail Head Gazebo in downtown Dallas from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. All friends and family are welcome to come celebrate and remember the life of Mrs. Cortes.
