Carl Rodney Ratliff of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the age of 81.
Carl was born on Saturday, April 11, 1942, in Jenkinjones, West Virginia to William Carl and Margaret Louise Ratliff.
Carl was a devout Christian, and he loved the Lord. He spent many years as a Minister, and in music ministry. Carl adored his family. He was the most loving husband, father, and "Poppie" anyone could ask for, and was the sweetest man anyone could meet. When it came to history, Carl was well versed. He enjoyed learning and studying about anything from the past. Carl was also an avid photographer and had a soft spot for animals. Carl was an Army veteran who was proud to serve his country.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Ratliff, and Joan Bragg.
Carl is lovingly survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Ratliff; daughters, Michelle Engler, and Rhonda Ratliff; grandchildren, Katie Todd, Tim (Molly) Todd, and Braeden Engler; step-grandchildren, Dakota Carruthers, and Kyle Carruthers, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A service for Carl will be at 1:00pm at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel with Reverend Steve Alred officiating.
Carl will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.
