Ken Ragsdale

Mr. Carlton Kennedy "Ken" Ragsdale, a devoted family man and beloved husband passed away on September 20, 2024. Born on March 15, 1939, in Dallas, Georgia, he was a proud resident of the community throughout his whole life. Ken shared a lifetime of love with his wife, Kathy, and his five children. He derived great joy from spending time with his family, including his grandchildren, and cherished moments hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden.

Ken was a skilled painting contractor, running his own business. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, always placing their happiness and well-being above all else.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of those he left behind. Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, James Carlton Ragsdale and Jessie Louise Bone Ragsdale; his sister, Rosemary Ragsdale; his son, Carlton "Kenny" Ragsdale Jr.; his grandson, Jeremy Ragsdale; and nephew, Shane Taft.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy Ragsdale; his daughters, Kristy (Kyle) Zazverskey, Kimberly (Jonathan) Stover, Angela (Gary) Southerland, Tammy (Rick) Jones; grandchildren, Deidre (Charlie) Elrod, Megan Bland, Morgan Smith, Logan Smith, Colton Zazverskey, Anthony Chumley, Benjamin Chumley; great-grandchildren, Layla Elrod, Dylan Bland; brothers, Dale (Sarah) Ragsdale, Tim (Judy) Ragsdale, Carl (Beatrice) Ragsdale, Russ (Sheila) Ragsdale; sister, Rosalind (Scott) Wesson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Ken Ragsdale will begin at 2:00 PM at Sam Clark Chapel with Reverend Johnny Bone officiating. 

Inurnment will immediately follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
