Chalmers Mayfield

Chalmers Mayfield, age 84, of Douglasville, GA passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born on December 31, 1932 in Villa Rica, GA to the late Marion Asberry & Eunice Hall Mayfield. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Delores Bailey Mayfield; a sister, Mattie Autry; son in law, Kelly Chandler. Mr. Mayfield worked for General Motors for more than 25 years. He was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 30 years, and is currently a member of the Dallas Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Jackson Mayfield, of Douglasville, GA; sons, David Saunders of MS, Steven Saunders of Dallas, GA; daughters, Jacquelyn Chandler of Gainesville, GA, Debra Osborne, of Austin, TX, Sandy Mayfield of Dallas, GA; several grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 03, 2017 from the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lloyd Latham officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Joey Ward, Aaron Hollingsworth, Matt Rogers, Terry Wallace, Andre Jackson and Will Adams will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 02, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
