Christie Brown Thompson

Christie Brown Thompson, age 101, passed away Saturday, May 04, 2019 at WellStar Tranquility Hospice at Cobb. Christie was born January 20, 1918 to the late George Waters and Minnie Lou Brown and was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney F. Thompson, sisters, Lucille Morgan, Gertrude Brown, Irene Bean and Marie Robbs; brothers, Jewel N. Brown, Noah Brown, Floyd (Bud) Brown and Arnold Brown.

Christie worked as a steam press operator at Palm Beach Clothing Company for 40 plus years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama. She loved to crochet and was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She enjoyed her special friends and playing bingo at Creekside Pines Senior Living where she had resided for the past six years

Survivors include her daughter Rebecca (Becky) Thompson Smith of Hiram, GA;granddaughter, Ashley Thompson (Jared) Gulick of Dallas, GA; great- granddaughter, Peyton Gulick of Dallas, GA.

The family would like to Thank WellStar Tranquility Cobb Hospice for their care and kindness during this time.

There will be a graveside service Monday at 2:00 PM C.S.T at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega, Alabama with Reverend Donnie Thompson officiating.
