Christine Schertz

Christine Stong Beam Schertz, age 78 of Laurinburg, NC, formerly of Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2009.
Mrs. Schertz was born January 27, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late George H. and Ethel Morgan Strong. She was the wife of the late William D. Schertz. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and enjoyed volunteer work with the Veterans Association and the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Beam and wife Kelley of Laurinburg;
her daughter, Denise Webb and husband Joe of Atlanta, GA, step daughter, Tonya Kusek and husband Tom of Dallas, GA, a brother, George Strong of Port Allegany, PA; eight grandchildren, Dana Bricefield, Molly Beam, Kyle Beam, Parker Beam, Brian Yackey, Maggie Webb, Stephen Kusek, Alaina Kusek and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:00am from Georgia National Cemetery with Dr. Curtis Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 11, 2009 6-8pm.
The family request that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Schertz to the Disabled Veterans Association.
