Christopher Straka

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Christopher John Straka, beloved son, brother, and friend, who left us on April 7, 2025, at age 50. Christopher was born on July 23, 1974, in Anderson, South Carolina, and lived most recently in Kennesaw, Georgia.

His passion marked Christopher's journey in life for the restaurant industry, where he dedicated many years to management. His natural leadership skills and commitment to excellence inspired his colleagues and patrons. Christopher was an avid hiking enthusiast who found solace in nature and often sought the open trails as a retreat for his spirit. His love for cooking was evident in every meal he prepared, and he delighted in sharing his culinary creations with family and friends. As a wine connoisseur, he appreciated the artistry behind each bottle, often bringing joy to gatherings with his keen knowledge and taste.

He is survived by his father, James Ronald Straka, and stepmother, Celeste; his mother, Sally Straka and William Shirley; and cherished sisters, Amanda Straka and Julia Straka. Christopher was also a devoted companion to his beloved dog, Pic Meister, who brought him immense joy and companionship.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown, New York on Thursday, April 24, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Christopher's life will immediately follow at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and celebrate Christopher's impact on all our lives.

Christopher will be laid to rest on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Cemetery, 665 Hunt Road, Lakewood, NY 14750. In this moment of grief, we remember a vibrant spirit who touched many hearts and whose memory will forever remain etched in our lives. May he rest in peace.
