Chuck Ellis, age 78, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was born in Eldon, Missouri, on February 4, 1931, to the late, Harry Charles Ellis and the late, Bess Sowards Ellis. Mr. Ellis was retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years of service as a Senior Chief Radioman and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of Vonore Baptist Church, Vonore, TN.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dot Ellis; sons & daughters-in-law, Steve & Janice Ellis of Hull, GA and Keith & Mary Beth Ellis of Freemont, CA; daughters & sons-in-law, Pam & Robb Belland of Douglasville, GA, Kim Ellis of Powder Springs, GA, and Peggy & Mark Humphries of Douglasville, GA; brother, Paris Ellis of Camden, OH; sister, Della Wellman of Vonore, TN; grandchildren, Christopher Ellis, Andrew Humphries, Rebecca Jenkins, Charlie Humphries, Stanley Ellis, Alex Belland, Prince Foster and Shane Foster; great-grandchild, Jayce Jenkins; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 12:00 noon, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Gil Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
