C.L. McAlister, age 86, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 17, 1933 in Tennessee to his late parents; James and Maggie McAlister. Mr. McAlister worked as a grocery store manager for Food Giant for many years. He was a past member and president of Villa Rica Saddle Club. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed woodwork and building furniture, Braves baseball, watching his grandchildren play baseball, and indulging in banana pudding, which was his favorite desert! Mr. McAlister was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Billie Geneva McAlister, grandson, Eric Kuemmel and his brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Thompson (Greg) of Hiram, GA, step children; James Davis (Shirley) of Bowdon, GA, Carol McDonald of Marietta, GA, Pam Price (Ricky) of Hiram, GA, brother, Dan McAlister of College Park, GA, grandchild, A.J. Kuemmel (Ryan Purdy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service for Mr. McAlister will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 restrictions.
