Clara Mae Baggett

April 4, 1937 — May 17, 2021

Clara Mae Baggett, age 84, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 17, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on April 4, 1937 to her late parents, Aubrey and Fae Clark Baggett. Ms. Baggett was known as an independent and giving woman who was dedicated to her church. In her spare time, she loved traveling, hosting family gatherings, and church activities. She was a loyal and outstanding employee of Central Mutual Insurance Co. for 44 years. She held many positions during her time there, the last being Senior Personal Lines Underwriter. For many years she was an active member and office holder of the Insurance Women of Decatur-Dekalb and received the Certified Professional Insurance Women’s Award. Her love for her church was shown by over 30 years of volunteer work as office secretary at White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard Baggett, and her nephew, Steve White.

Ms. Baggett is survived by her sisters, Sue Hunt and Katherine (Osara) White; nephews, Larry (Becky) White, David (Ray Zavachi) White, Clay Hunt, and Chris Baggett; niece, Stephanie (Mark) Williams; great nieces and nephews, Valerie (Glenn)  Heal, Kevin (Kail) White, Meagan (James) Hack, Jared Williamson, Caleb Hunt, Brittany Cochran, Devon Baggett, and Amanda Baggett; great-great nieces and nephews, Ella Heal, Addie Heal, Braxton White, and Kylie Hoggard; great-great-great nephew, Ryker Hoggard.

Funeral Services for Ms. Baggett will be held at White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, GA, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 12:00 with Brother Keith Lee and Brother Rich Fulton officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 prior to the funeral at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Clara’s name to White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

The family wishes to thank caregivers, Sharion Boykins and Ida Harris of Quality Care Senior Sitting Service. Also, nurse Cheryl Darnell of Kindred Care.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 concerns. If attending the visitation or service, the family and the staff of Clark Funeral Home recommends a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Ms. Baggett safe.
