Cody Ray Stephens, age 28, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. Cody was born on June 13, 1992 in Austell, GA. Mr. Stephens worked as a tech for Harbuck Heating and Air in Douglasville, GA and was a member of Browns Chapel Church. Cody was a loving fiancé, son, brother, grandson and uncle who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rufus McClung.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his loving mother and father, Laura and Anthony McClung of Hiram, GA, fiancé, Kayla Helton of Yorkville, GA, brother, Joshua (Kelli) Stephens of Dallas, GA, sisters; Christian “Faith” (Daniel) Murison of Hiram, GA, Courtney “Grace” (Cory) Tramel of Douglasville, GA, Charity “Hope” McClung of Hiram, GA, grandparents; Bobby and Brenda Mullins of Douglasville, GA, Betty McClung, niece, Taylor Murison, nephews; Toby Stephens, Noah Tramel, Jackson Murison and Braxton Stephens.
Funeral Services for Mr. Cody Stephens will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM from The Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Clayton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen; Joshua Stephens, Daniel Murison, Cory Tramel, James Caviness, Bj Caviness, Jeffrey sweet, Joseph sweet and Nathan nails . The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the state’s Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Stephens safe.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Clark Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses for Mr. Stephens. Donations may be mailed, brought in person or done over the phone.
