Dan Phillip Glaze, age 60, of Dallas, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Mr. Glaze was born in Atlanta, on April 30, 1948, to Ethelene East Glaze & the late, Edward d. Glaze. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Morningside, Maryland, and a member of the American Legion Post #160 in Smyrna, GA. Mr. Glaze worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad a total of 30 years, 10 years in Special Services and 20 years as a Special Officer in the Police Department. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church. Mr. Glaze enjoyed cooking (his specialty was pancakes), was an avid reader, and loved computer games.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Jean Glaze; mother, Ethelene Glaze of Atlanta; sons, Sgt. Mark Phillip Glaze, U. S. Army of Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO, and Robert Glen Jenkins of Orlando; daughters & sons-in-law, Jaye Anna L. Hill & husband, Brian K. of Roswell, Dena Hoggard & husband, David of Dallas, and Michell Renee Glaze of Orlando; brother & sister-in-law, Edward Donald Glaze & wife, Bobbie of Riverdale; special friends, Dina Sullins of Winston, Carolyn Sharp of Snellville, and Suzanne Congdon of Smyrna; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 2:00 pm, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Rick Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 pm until
8:00 pm.
