Darlene DeMato Torrence, age 75, of Hiram, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011. She was born on July 18, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late John and Augusta DeMato, and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marvin Torrence. Mrs. Torrence was a member of First Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth M. Torrence, Jr, of Hiram, Denis Lee & Joanne Torrence of Hiram, and Jerry Wade & Julie Torrence of Kennesaw; daughters and son-in-law, Charlene Ann Torrence of Hiram, and Candie Sue & Alan Elerson of Powder Springs; brothers, Joe DeMato of San Diego, California, and John DeMato of Spiro, Oklahoma; sisters, Ester Brown of San Diego, California, May Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri, June Nelson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Irene Brennen of Bentonville, AK; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 16, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
