David Dewayne Carden

December 22, 1944 — October 25, 2022

David Dewayne Carden passed away on October 25, 2022. He was born to Katie (Clay) Carden and Huey Carden on December 22, 1944. He was born at the old hospital in Marietta, Ga. He and his wife, Linda Cardwell Carden were high school sweethearts and shared 58 years of marriage together. From this union they had four children, Kim, Noelle, Julie, and David. Dewayne (as his family knew him) and David (as his coworkers knew him) graduated from Osbourne High School in Marietta with the Class of '62 and then graduated from Reinhardt College with the Class of '64. He retired from the US Department of Justice in 1996, with 20 years of service.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Katie Carden. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Carden; their children, Kim Carden Mitas, Noelle Carden, Julie Carden (Mike) Lamb, David Andrew (Jessie) Carden; five grandchildren, Dustin Carden, Avery Mitas, Kaitlyn Carden, Megan Carden, and Hayden Lamb; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle Carden, Sawyer Carden, and Harlow Carden.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thurday, October 27, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral Services for Mr. Carden will begin at 2:00pm with Brother Larry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery with David Carden, Dustin Carden, Avery Mitas, Mike Lamb, and Hayden Lamb serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made towards the American Lung Association in Mr. Carden's honor.
