David Monroe Cooper

David Monroe Cooper, age 72, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was born on July 13, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Russom Perry & Josephine Bagley Cooper. David attended North Georgia College for two years, graduating from West Georgia College with a business degree. David served in the US Army and was a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War. During Vietnam he was a MedEvac in the First Calvary division. David worked as a Georgia State Patrolman for 13 years. David was a faithful member of Legacy Baptist Church, as well as a member of VFW and the American Legion. David enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses, and was dearly loved by his family and friends. His sense of humor, funny sayings and wisdom will always be treasured.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Jones Cooper of Dallas, Georgia; daughters, Rebecca (Kevin) Cooper Bates of Covington, Georgia and Ginger (Joe) Cooper Rhea of Dallas, Georgia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve & Diane Jones of Dallas, Georgia; grandchildren, Gavin Bates, Gracie Bates, Lilly Rhea and Josh Rhea; nieces and nephews, Melody (Rick) Rife, Brian Cochran, Jessica (Dana) King, Jennifer Jones, the late Ben Jones, and many other great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at 11 AM, from Legacy Baptist Church, with Reverend Alton Wilson, Mr. John Henderson, and Rev. Jimmy Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include Kevin Bates, Joe Rhea, Steve Jones, Rick Rife, Brian Cochran, John Henderson and Jimmy Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will include Gavin Bates and Josh Rhea. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 4 PM until 8 PM.
