It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Junior Nance, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and esteemed member of the community, who peacefully departed on November 20, 2024, while at home. Born on September 3, 1956, in Paragould, Arkansas, Dennis Nance dedicated his life to service, making a lasting impact in both the military and technological sectors.
Having proudly served his country in the United States Army, Dennis excelled as a radio and television system specialist. Following his military career, he owned and expanded a successful computer systems business, ACME TV and Electronics in Savannah, GA, where his passion for technology shone brightly. Dennis held an Amateur Extra Class ham radio operator license where he continuously sought to expand his knowledge and skills in the field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dennis Nance was actively involved in his community, serving as a member of the North Georgia Disaster Relief Team. An amateur astronomer with an affinity for stargazing, he even had the honor of being mentored by distinguished astronomer Clyde Tombaugh, exploring the wonders of our universe.
Dennis was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his wife and children. His faith in God was strong and he had a deep love for our Lord that he enjoyed sharing with his family. A man of many talents and passions, Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Jackie Nance.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Nance; their three children, Elizabeth (Nathan) McMichen, Victoria (Chris) Owenby, David (Joanna) Nance; grandchildren, Grace McMichen, Kyndra Owenby, Wyatt Owenby; great-grandchild, Khloe Owenby; siblings, Teresa Nance Woodson, Terry Nance, and Connie Nance Perisol.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mr. Nance will immediately follow at 6:00 PM at Sam Clark Chapel.
A Graveside Service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm, where he will be laid to rest with military honors.
