Derek Stone Sr.

Derek Stone, Sr. of Temple, GA passed away January 17, 2022 at the age of 62. Derek was born October 3, 1959 in Lincolnton, NC to Holly Burt Stone and Dorothy Klindt Dragosh. In 2001, Derek married the love of his life, Barbara Stone. Derek served our nation in the Marines, worked as a chef and was a fantastic cook. He loved flowers and working in the yard, enjoyed fishing and playing chess, and was a faithful Bulldog fan. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and he will be greatly missed.

Derek is preceded in death by his son, Derek Allen Stone, Jr., and mother, Dorothy Klindt Dragosh. He is survived by his father, Holly Burt (Sandra) Stone, his loving wife, Barbara Stone; sons, Josh (Marie) Stone, Justin Stone, and Michael Shane Stone; daughters, Jennifer (Quentin) Hale, and Amanda Nichole Mosley; brother, Mark Stone; sister, Diana Edwards; and grandchildren, Chelsey Augustine, Chase Hale, Donovan Stone, Dannah Stone, Delilah Stone, Savannah Mosley, Skylar Mosley, Mason Stone, and Georgia Stone.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Highway, Hiram, GA 30141, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Per the family's wishes, Derek will be cremated and buried at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date.
