Don Champion

Don Champion, age 75, of Acworth, GA (Paulding County), passed away Friday, October 22, 2010. He was born in Dallas, GA, November 5, 1934, to the late, Walter Clyde Champion, Sr. & the late, Mary Louise Cato Champion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post 111, Masonic Lodge Bartlett Lodge and Yaarab Temple Shrine. Mr. Champion was Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Dallas First United Methodist Church, where he was a member for many years. He was the owner of J. Don Décor.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joan Bivens Champion; daughter & son-in-law, Gretchen & Chad Curl of Dallas, GA; brother & sister-in-law, David & Dianne Champion of Hoschton, GA; Grandson Charles Benjamin “Chip” Curl, III; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 24, 2010, at 3:00 PM, from Dallas First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Steve Schofield, Dr. Ken Ray, and Chris Pavlovsky officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, October 23, 2010, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
