Don O. Young, age 78, of Hiram, GA passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Mr. Young was born on February 12, 1936 in Blairsville, GA, to the late Charlie James Young & Willa Mae Jackson Young. Mr. Young worked for Phoenix Supply for over 30 years and was also an actor for 37 years. He appeared in Sweet Home Alabama, Murder in Coweta County, Twist of Faith, We Are Marshall, and many other films & commercials.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Peggy Barton Young of Hiram, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Donna Jo & Brad Townsend of Durango, CO; step-son & wife, Stephen & Samantha Williams of Hiram, GA; brother & wife, Charles & Janette Young of Powder Springs, GA; sisters, Barbara Bedgood of Dallas, GA and Gloria & Rodney Gardner of Marietta, GA; two granddaughters; one grandson; three great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Young will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Whipple officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Don Young.
