Dora Strickland

Dora Matilda Strickland, age 78, of Marietta, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The daughter of the late, Thomas Durrel Freeman and the late, Irene Cerita Baxter Freeman, she was born June 15, 1933, in Dallas, GA. Her husband of 57 years, George Milton Strickland, preceded her in death. She worked for Life of Georgia in her early years and she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Jeff Strickland & wife, Susie of Cartersville, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Leta Strickland Queen & husband, Rick of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Lee Strickland, John Strickland, Chris Strickland and Dana Gray; great-grandchildren, John Michael Strickland and Nevaeh Strickland; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 23, 2012, at 2:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Don Voyles officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, with Todd Barron, Grayson Roberts, Chris Strickland, John Strickland, Lee Strickland and Howell Strickland serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
