Dorothy Shelton

Dorothy Annette Shelton, age 84, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011. She was born on January 9, 1927, in Maysville, GA, to the late Hugh & Lorena Hill, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walter Brooks. Mrs. Shelton retired as a secretary after 30 years of service with the State Department of Defense, and was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta.
Survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Brooks of L.A., California, and Terry & Cathy Brooks of Dallas; daughters, Karen Evans of Montgomery, AL, and Cheryl Spencer of Acworth; sister, Marjorie Everett of Rome; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 11 a.m., from GA Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Bill Camp officiating. David Ledbetter, Hank Cobb, Roone Unger, Shon Evans, Justin Evans and Randy Collins will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
