Captain Douglas H. Dorris, age 62, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007. He was born on January 24, 1945, in Marietta, to the late Herschel Newton Dorris & Sarah Florence Dorris. Mr. Dorris was the owner/operator of a grading business. He was a member of Corner Baptist Church and a charter fishing boat captain. He is survived by his wife, Susan Diane Godfrey Dorris of Powder Springs; son, David Dorris of Powder Springs; daughters, Polly Hall of Kennesaw and Pam Metscher; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one niece and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Ray Huddleston officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00p.m.
