Dr. Dan Sewell

Dr. Dan F. Sewell, age 51, of Griffin, GA, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011. He was born, July 25, 1959, in Atlanta, GA, to Don F. & Evelyn M. Sewell. Dr. Sewell graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1977. Dan and both of his brothers were all Eagle Scouts. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985 from the University of Georgia and founded Fairview Animal Hospital. He then graduated from Augusta Medical College with a Physicians Assistant degree and worked for Dr. John Findley at South Metro Bone & Joint. He spent his life helping people and animals and will be sorely missed. Dr. Sewell was a member of Eagles Landing Baptist Church in Stockbridge.
Survivors include his parents, Don F. & Evelyn M. Sewell of Villa Rica, GA; sons, Luke Sewell, Eric Sewell and Marc Sewell, all of McDonough, GA; daughter, Rebekah Sewell of McDonough, GA; brothers, David Sewell of Carrollton, GA and Darryl Sewell of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, Cory Sewell; niece, Kristen Sewell; and fiance’, Joanne Witzl of Stockbridge, GA.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 20, 2011, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Gerry Davis and Dr. Jim Burdette officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park, with David Sewell, Darryl Sewell, Cory Sewell, Luke Sewell, Eric Sewell and Marc Sewell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
