Earl Elijah Denney, age 89, of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. He was born on March 1, 1922, in Bowman, GA, to the late James L. and Cora Denney, and was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Denney. Mr. Denney was a World War II United States Army Veteran, retired from Lockheed with over 30 years of service, and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Dennis Shumake of Hiram; grandchildren, Kelly & Dustin Edwards of Ball Ground, and Casey & Lauren Shumake of Powder Springs; great-grandchildren, Ansley Edwards, Wyatt Shumake, and Michael Edwards; three nieces and one nephew.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 11 a.m., from Mountain View Cemetery, with Dr. Tim Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
