Eddie Tant, age 85, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born on October 9, 1931, in Talladega, AL, to the late William Paul & Essie Mae Tant, and was preceded in death by his wife, Zora Frances Tant; son, Travis Tant and sister, Lois Harper. Mr. Tant was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, retired from Ford Motor Company with over 25 years of service, and was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. Eddie was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #139.
Survivors include his sons, Curtis Wayne & Linda Tant of Lineville, AL and Charles Dale & Jane Tant of Woodstock, GA; daughter-in-law Connie Tant of Dawsonville, GA; brothers, Walter & Ann Tant of Eton, GA, and Jimmy & Linda Tant of Villa Rica, GA; sisters, Nell & Ned Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, Rita Todd of Douglasville A, Juanita & Curtis Sanford of Birmingham, AL, and Carol & Danny Troche of Hiawassee, GA; grandchildren, Lydia & Bryan Liford, Zack Tant, Tyler Tant, Ashley & Chase Holder, Tony Roberson, and Ricky & Valerie Roberson; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby McDowell and Reverend Sam Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens, and the service will be conducted by Hiram Masonic Lodge #139. Zack Tant, Tyler Tant, David Tant, Mark Tant, Alexander Sweatman, Adam Ferrell and James Oliver will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
