Edith Carole (Rodgers) Simmons

Edith Carole Simmons passed away on February 6, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1938 to the late John and Bernice Rodgers. Edith was a faithful member of New Season Church alongside her husband, Earnest. She loved her church and being a devoted servant of the Lord. Edith had a strong love for people. Her kindness and caring nature touched everyone she met. Her warmth and goodwill never faltered no matter what. Edith's family was her life. She loved each of them deeply and was always there for them. Edith was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be very missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Rodgers and her sister, Jeanine Rodgers. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Earnest Simmons; her son, Earnest Simmons Jr. and his wife, Sherry; her daughters, Deborah Tillman and her husband, Daniel; and Donna Colbert and her husband, Ray; her sister, Ruth Cavender; six grandchildren, Earnest Simmons III and his wife, Mary Beth, Stephen (Kelsey) Simmons, Jennifer (Brandon) Jones, James Colbert, David Colbert, Thomas Colbert; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Simmons, Ethan Simmons, and Ellie Simmons; nephew, Robert Simmons, and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Simmons will be Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Steve Flockhart officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
