Mr. Edward Leon Johnson, age 78, of Acworth, GA passed away on Monday, October 30, 2006. He was born on April 15, 1928 in Folkston, GA to the late Odus and Vera Johnson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sarah N. Johnson; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and James R. Cherry of Greenville, S.C. and Nancy and Steven J. Gordon of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Brian and Kristen Cherry, Bradley Gordon, Jessica Gordon Alsup and Blake Gordon; one great-grandchild, Riley Gordon.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements.
