Effie Harris

Effie L. Harris, age 91, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016. She was born on December 3, 1924, in Dallas, GA, to the late McKinley & Odessie Flemister, and was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Babiker, son, Bernard Harris, JR, brother and sister-in-law, John & Corrine Flemister, and sister, Elsie Rainey. Mrs. Harris was a weight consultant for Weight Watchers for many years and was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband of 69 years, Bernard Harris of Dallas, GA; children, Rosemary Clemons of Douglasville, GA; Howard & Joyce Harris of Villa Rica, GA, and Lonnie Harris of Dallas, GA; brothers, Paul & Janell Flemister of Hiram, GA, Wallace & Josephine Flemister of Dallas, GA, Chester & Alice Flemister of Villa Rica, GA; sisters, Esther & Billy Sims of Hiram, GA, Jacquelyn House of Dallas, GA, and Eva Flemister of Dallas, GA; brother-in-law, Grant Rainey of College Park; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 11 AM, from Rocky Ford Baptist Church, with Pastor Brendan Jenkins, Pastor Stanley Freeland and Pastor Paul Flemister officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Rocky Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
