Emma "Granny" Watts, age 89, of Hiram, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013. She was born on April 12, 1924, in Dallas, GA, to the late Bogen and Flara Watts, and was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emma Turner. Ms. Watts worked at Bell Bomer Plant, which later became Lockheed, and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include son, Jackie Turner of Dallas; daughter, Lynda Green of Hiram; sister Burma Estes of Hiram; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013, at 2 p.m., from Mars Hill Baptist Church, with Reverend Robert Bryant officiating. Ms. Watts will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 13, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7:30.
