Eri Tibbitts, age 82, of Dallas, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012. He was born November 10, 1930, in Burnt Hickory, GA, to the late, Reverend Maston Tibbitts and the late, Myrtis Howell Tibbitts. Mr. Tibbitts was also preceded in death by, daughter, Janet Tibbitts Watson; son, Mark Tibbitts & wife, Sharon; grandson, Robert Lee Davis; son-in-law, Paul Davis; twin grandchildren, Heather and Hanna Tibbitts; twin brothers, Lamon and Labon Tibbitts; brothers, Reverend Green Tibbitts, and Donald Tibbitts & his wife, Louise; sister, Elberta Atcheson; and brother-in-law, Bob Holcomb. Mr. Tibbitts was the owner of Tibbitts Repair Service for many years and he was a member of Narroway Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ida Mae Miller Tibbitts; son Dennis Tibbitts & wife,Vicki of Dallas, GA; daughter, Gail Davis of Dallas, GA; sister, Fannie Holcomb of Dallas, GA; brother-in-law, George Atcheson, Jr. of Dallas, GA; sisters-in-law, Martha Tibbitts, Betty Tibbitts and Faye Tibbitts, all of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Joseph Watson of Dallas, GA, Josh Watson (Jamie) of Cobb County, GA, Forrest “Bud” Davis & Kathrine Jacobs of Collinsville, AL, Jessica Roeder (Peter) of Westminster, SC, Chase Tibbitts (Katie) of Gadsden, AL and Christa Tibbitts of Dallas, GA; step-grandchildren, James & Alisha Marshall, Melissa White, Mr. & Mrs. Scott Brinkley, Mr. & Mrs. David Brinkley and Ethan Fain; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 2:00 PM, from Narroway Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Tibbitts, Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts, Reverend Merle Barron and Reverend Kyle Tibbitts officiating. Music will be provided by the Tibbitts Family. Reverend Hershel Tibbitts will conduct the graveside service in the Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery. Forrest Davis, Joseph Watson, Joshua Watson, Chase Tibbitts, Peter Roeder, Nathan Davis and Ethan Fain will serve as pallbearers. The deacons of Narroway Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, on Friday, December 21, 2012, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
