Ernest Dickerson

Ernest Doyle Dickerson, age 74, of Powder Springs (Paulding County) passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born on January 4, 1936, in Smyrna, GA, to the late Walter and Delma Dickerson, and was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Faye Dickerson, and son, Duane Adkins Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the City of Atlanta Street Department with 30 years of service as a supervisor. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed woodworking, and was a baseball and softball coach at Nickajack and Rhyne Parks in Smyrna, GA.
Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Darrin & Wendy Dickerson of Dallas, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Doylaina & Bruce Lockridge of Douglasville, and Dorinda & Joel Williams of Savannah, GA; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 3 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mike Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 31, 2010, and Monday, February 1, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
